Medihex is a science-based health and pharmaceutical brand focusing on creating the sense of security and well-being for people. New developed products are high-tech, born from the successful collaborations between researchers, universities and companies.
Tartu Ülikool, AS Tervisetehnoloogiate Arenduskeskus and Medihex are working together on a long-term project for the development of innovative probiotics targeted at the improvement of women’s health: Lactobacillus crispatus EST-1, EST-2, EST-3 and EST-5. These useful lactic acid bacteria help to balance the vaginal environment and thereby efficiently protect from bacterial vaginosis and vaginal yeast infections.
Development of antimicrobial fibrous wound matrices
Chronic wounds and wound infections are major problems for society. In the project, antimicrobial fibrous wound matrices for the prevention and treatment of wound infections are developed. As a result of the project, a clinically relevant wound matrices with desired antimicrobial and wound healing properties are developed.
Collaboration network One Health Excellence Hub
OH-Excel seeks to establish an interregional and cross-sectoral excellence hub to strengthen regional innovation in the field of “One Health” in Lithuania and Estonia (Widening countries), and in the Helsinki-Uusimaa region (Finland, Leading country).
Excellence hub will be a vector for facilitating knowledge transfer and collaboration between regional and interregional companies, research institutions, governmental bodies, and societal actors (quadruple helix stakeholders), to support research and innovation (R&I) excellence in participating regions. In close collaboration, the consortium aims to achieve the following objectives:
The vision of Medihex is to create products that are efficient but at the same time safe. The achievement of its purpose is based on the know-how of Chemi-Pharm and the science-based collaboration network. Natural and safe ingredients which are efficient in solving problems the society is facing are used in the manufacturing of the products as much as possible.
